At some point, the Buffaloes’ freshmen will play like freshmen. Yet right now they’re performing very much as if they belong, and the youthful spark has provided a much-improved level of depth that should serve CU well as the schedule begins to toughen.
That depth was on full display during Monday night’s lopsided 94-66 victory against Alabama State. The Buffs featured their fourth leading scorer in as many games, while CU’s rookie class came off the bench to make key contributions across the board.
The Buffs will face tougher teams as the season unfolds, including Friday’s home date against UC Davis (7 p.m., ESPN+). But the quick assimilation of CU’s freshmen is helping the Buffs build
