HOUSTON – Summer Heather Worden, a 50-year-old from Sedgwick County, Kansas, pleaded guilty to lying to law enforcement in a case involving her estranged spouse, astronaut Anne McClain, announced U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei.
In July 2019, Worden accused McClain of illegally accessing her bank account from the International Space Station. However, investigations revealed that Worden had given McClain access to her bank records since 2015.
U.S. District Judge Alfred Bennett accepted Worden's plea on Nov. 13. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 12, 2026, where Worden could face up to five years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
Until the sentencing, Worden is allowed to remain on bond.
