CLEVELAND, Ohio – An 18-year-old accused of robbing an off-duty Cleveland police officer is now charged with attempted murder in a separate incident at the same gas station a week earlier.
A Cuyahoga County grand jury on Monday indicted Kevin Jackson, of Cleveland, and accused him of two separate attacks at a gas station at East 40 th Street and Quincy Avenue.
According to authorities, Jackson on Nov. 8 approached the off-duty officer, who was pumping gas, and aimed a gun at him. A second suspect then began stealing items from the officer’s car.
The suspects grabbed the 24-year-old officer’s service weapon, police ID, wallet, car key and watch, according to prosecutors. Jackson, who lives two blocks away from the crime scene, was arrested two days later. He was indicted on felony ch
