CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 25-year-old man was shot by Chicago police Tuesday on the city's South Side, CPD said.
Uniformed CPD officers tried to conduct an investigatory stop on a man who was believed to have a gun about 11:50 a.m. in the 5600-block of South Michigan Avenue in Washington Park, police said.

The man did not stop, and officers chased him on foot, police said.
One officer saw that the man had a gun and gave multiple verbal commands, which were disregarded, according to CPD.
An officer then shot at the man.
He was grazed on his stomach and right arm, police said.
Officers rendered aid, and the man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center.
