The House, in a near-unanimous vote, passed a bill ordering the Justice Department to release the full case files in the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein. This includes all unclassified records, documents, communications and investigative materials related to the investigation and prosecution of the late sex offender.

Only Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana's 3rd Congressional District , a Republican, voted against releasing the files. Two other Republicans — Rep. Michael Rulli of Ohio's 6th Congressional District and Rep. Steve Womack of Arkansas' 3rd Congressional District — did not vote. Womack, who was absent because of a family emergency, released a statement saying he would have voted to release the Epstein files.
