BATON ROUGE, La. —
Louisiana has become the first state to receive federal approval to deploy over $1.3 billion into its internet infrastructure, according to Gov. Jeff Landry.
The funding comes from the Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment program, which aims to connect all Americans to high-speed internet through infrastructure development. Advertisement
Landry said that this BEAD approval will move the state closer to connecting every parish to reliable internet and support long-term growth across several sectors.
"This is a generational investment that places Louisiana at the forefront of America's tech transformation," Landry said in a statement.
