CONCORD, N.H. —
Lawmakers in Concord are moving forward with plans to help the Claremont School District with its ongoing financial crisis.
At the beginning of the school year, Claremont schools faced a $5.1 million budget shortfall, which officials attribute to mismanagement and leadership issues.
The Senate Education Committee approved a new “revenue stabilization plan,” which would allow cash-strapped schools to take out a low-interest loan of upcoming state education funds.

The idea is that rather than communities obtaining new funds and then having to owe even more money in the future, they would be able to get early access to money they would normally receive later on.
