Powell, Tenn. (WVLT) - Powell Elementary School has nearly 800 students enrolled.
However, some students have classes in the outside portables, and parents have brought up concerns about the condition of these classrooms.
Issues such as holes, heating/cooling and more are just some of the things that parent said are troublesome in the portables.
There are currently eight portables on the school grounds. Three of the units are from the mid-1990s, two of them are from 2017, one has been recently built and the other is currently being installed.
“I don’t know many people who have been in a trailer that’s 40 years old, but they are kind of falling apart,” Caris Conner, a concerned parent on the Powell PTA, said.
