CLAYMONT, Del. (WPVI) -- Gas prices are climbing across the region, but Delaware drivers are seeing the sharpest increases.
"I noticed that the Delaware prices went up. Considerably. Really quick," said Bob Eagle of Georgetown.
AAA reports the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Delaware is up 21 cents compared to last week. That's a steeper jump than Pennsylvania's 8-cent increase and New Jersey's 5-cent rise.
"One day it was like $2.99, the next day it was like $3.19. I'm not quite sure why," Eagle said.
AAA spokesperson Jana Tidwell said the spike likely comes down to supply logistics.
"That is likely attributed to, 'Where did that gas come from?' Probably further than it typically does," Tidwell said.
Despite the increase, Delaware still offers cheaper gas than Pennsylv
