Christmas is coming to the Phoenix this year, as state forestry officials prepare for a festive display at the Capitol Rotunda. And at the center of that display will be a Christmas tree harvested in Mohave County.

The 30-foot-tall tree is expected to be offered as a gift by the Hualapai Nation, and harvested from an area of forest Northeast of Peach Springs on Nov. 21. That donation will continue a tradition of partnership between state forestry officials and Arizona tribes, who have provided a Christmas tree to the Arizona Capitol for the past three years as a symbol of partnership between the state and indigenous residents.
