CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) - The Clinton Humane Society won’t take any more stray animals starting Tuesday, after contract negotiations fail.
Clinton Humane Society officials said the city told them it ended contract negotiations is looking for alternative providers for animal control services according to a media release.
Officials said the Humane Society also can’t accept animals involved in neglect and abuses cases or animals from hoarding cases starting Tuesday until a new agreement is reached.
These cases will now be the city or law enforcements responsibility officials said.
Officials previously announced they would stop taking in stray animals starting Oct. 1 in September.
