A man convicted of murder and attempted murder in a 2024 south Alabama incident has received two life sentences.
According to the Mobile District Attorney’s Office, a judge issued the sentences to Alfred Johnson for killing Cory Evans and injuring a woman.
Johnson shot both victims in a driveway on Lundy Lane on March 22, 2024.
“The jury saw through Alfred Johnson’s excuses and held him accountable for a violent and senseless attack. Cory Evans lost his life, and another victim was left gravely injured,” said Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood.
“This sentence ensures that Johnson will never again have the opportunity to harm another person.”
Blackwood’s office said Johnson‘s co-defendant, Sharon Vallare, has a trial set to begin on December 8.
