FRESNO, California — Monico Erich Gastelo, a 44-year-old resident of Fresno, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for sexual exploitation of a child and receipt and distribution of child pornography. The sentence will be followed by 15 years of supervised release with restrictions on his access to children, computers, and the internet, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.
Gastelo was also ordered to pay $40,000 in monetary penalties and will be required to register as a sex offender upon release. Court documents reveal that in January 2019, Gastelo created a social media account posing as an 18-year-old boy to solicit sexually explicit content from minors.
