TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Leon County Schools considered an agreement with Capital Area Action Agency Head Start to bring classrooms to several area schools.
Head Start said it has over 300 slots it wants to open up to LCS students.
Starting in January 2026, Head Start hopes to open classrooms at Hartsfield, Pineview and Sabal Palm Elementary Schools.
Classrooms would expand in August to Apalachee, Astoria, Oak Ridge, Sealey and Springwood.
This collaboration promotes early learning and will help facilitate smooth transitions to kindergarten.
Superintendent Rocky Hanna said this “just makes sense.”
