TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Tallahassee chapter of the NAACP and Tallahassee ALERT hosted a town hall Tuesday night on the future of FSU Health.
The groups discussed the potential merger between Florida State University and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, focusing on how Florida A&M University will play a part in the new venture.
Many speakers at the town hall, including Dr. Bruce Strouble, chair of Tallahassee ALERT, said the merger is being rushed, and they want a more concrete outline of how TMH will operate besides a memorandum of understanding.
“We’re concerned about the continuance of indigent care,” Strouble said. “I know that’s in the MOU, but that MOU is non-binding, so how is the community going to have those guarantees mandated in this transaction, and then also is the ques
