COLUMBUS, Ohio - Decades of cookies, classroom achievement and community impact led up to a Trumbull County high school club's recognition Monday.
Bloomfield High School was represented by its Home Economics Club at the Ohio School Board Association's (OSBA) Achievement Fair in Columbus, to share how shaping Christmas cookies year after year, has also shaped the club's impact.
The teacher leading the club, Mrs. Sampson, was joined by four students at the OSBA fair to display how their yearly Christmas cookie fundraisers have enhanced opportunities in the classroom.
Since 1977, Sampson documents that her home economics students have baked 32,963 dozen cookies — that equates to nearly 400,000 cookies. The fundraiser has, through the years, generated a total of $49,584.88 in profits for t
