MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -A Madison organization dedicated to ending gun violence is supporting families and victims after a deadly shooting on the city’s north side Monday night, as police arrested a person of interest five hours after the incident.
“When someone is struck by gun violence, our community is affected,” Anthony Cooper Sr., CEO and founder of Focused Interruption said.
The north side shooting is one of three acts of gun violence reported within the last few days in Madison.
“It’s heavy. This is a heavy weekend for us here in Madison,” Stephanie Fryer, MPD’s PIO said. “Our community has been trending in the correct way when it comes to seeing violent crimes being down overall.
