GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Toyota is expanding its manufacturing operations in the United States for $912 million, including at the Georgetown plant in Scott County. Tuesday, the automaker announced a nationwide investment in five manufacturing plants across the country.
At least 82 new jobs are coming to Toyota’s Georgetown plant as part of a $204.4 million expansion. Vice President of Toyota Kentucky, Chad Miller, said it’s to meet the growing demand for hybrid vehicles.
“We will be increasing our manufacturing capacity by adding an additional machining line to produce 2.4-liter hybrid engines,” Miller said.
