IRMO, S.C. (WIS) — New federal lawsuits claim a Midlands charter school failed to protect three victims of sexual abuse.

The families of three alleged victims, ranging in age from 7 to 11, filed in federal court Tuesday against Green Charter School of the Midlands and the South Carolina Public Charter School District.

According to the lawsuits, all three victims were allegedly abused by former after-school program employee Sulaymaan Benoit.

In their lawsuits, the families claim that school employees did not protect the victims and that other employees, including Green Charter principal Tina Shaw, knew about Benoit’s alleged abuse and did not report it to law enforcement.
