DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A murder conviction against a Decatur man in the 2019 beating and strangling of his girlfriend has been upheld by the Georgia Supreme Court.
Antonio Taylor was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 2021 for beating and strangling Aisha Dixon so severely she had nearly 50 documented internal injuries in an autopsy.
Those internal, a medical examiner found, would have required a "great amount of force" -- kicking, punching, stomping.
The physical abuse began at an apartment in DeKalb County and continued to another apartment in Fulton County, though the state Supreme Court noted "there was strong evidence that she was already dead or near death due to internal bleeding and the effects of strangulation by the time she was brought to the apartment in Fulton Cou
