LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Texas Tech Red Raiders are now sitting at the No. 5 spot in the latest College Football Rankings.

Texas Tech moved up one spot to No. 5 as Georgia jumped to No. 4 after Alabama’s loss to Oklahoma. The defeat dropped the Crimson Tide to No. 10 and the Sooners improved to No. 8.

A total of five Big 12 conference teams are in the top 25 with No. 24 Arizona State and No. 23 Houston making the list, while No. 12 Utah and No. 11 BYU both improve by one spot.

With a bye week, Texas Tech will likely remain in that spot next week, unless one of the top four teams gets upset.

If the playoffs were to begin today, Texas Tech would host the highest ranked group of five school, which is Tulane.
