FARGO — A local senior living and memory care center says it is closing two of its locations.
Ecumen Evergreens of Fargo and Moorhead are set to close Jan. 22.
A spokesperson cited financial challenges for the closures.
She says staffing shortages for nurses and caregivers are also a factor. Ecumen serves 59 people, with 75 staff members.
They have already notified the families who have loved ones in their care, as well as staff.
"So our top priority is walking alongside residents through every single step of this transition, making sure they feel supported and cared for," said Corrine McCallum, Ecumen spokesperson.
Ecumen says it is working one-on-one with families to find a new senior living or memory care facility and helping staff find new roles within the company.
