JACKSON, N.H. —
Mount Washington is nearing the record for the highest amount of snow recorded during the month of November, according to scientists at the mountain's observatory.
"So far, for the month of November, we have recorded 60.1 inches of snow — that's as of right now when I'm speaking. More is on the way in the next week or so," Alexandra Branton, weather observer and education specialist with the Mount Washington Observatory.
According to observatory records, which date back to 1932, the most November snow on record for the mountain is 86.6 inches, set in 1968.
The high total, Branton said, is the result of consistent snow flow.
