ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - A best-selling author from our hometowns is hoping to make her voice heard on Capitol Hill.
Beth Macy hosted a kickoff to her campaign tonight in Roanoke.
She will be running as a democrat and hopes to challenge current 6th District Congressman Ben Cline for his seat.
“This race is for you and its about you, so I promise to listen to every one to learn to represent all the people. It is by giving all people a voice not just the rich and powerful that we can hope to become a more perfect union,” Macy said.
Right now there are two other democrats hoping to put their names on the ticket in November 2026.
That includes Ken Mitchell and Pete Barlow .
Primaries here in Virginia are set for June 16.
