BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A proposed indoor sports facility is one step closer to becoming a reality in Barboursville.
On Tuesday, the Barboursville City Commission approved the next step in building a new indoor multi-use sports facility at Barboursville Park.
Barboursville will now look for architects to help come up with the design for the facility. Mayor Chris Tatum said the progress on the project is encouraging.
“I think it’s just more excitement for us,” Tatum said. “One, to bring people here, but also for the families who live here and have kids who play youth sports. And not just youth sports, there’s so many other things that can be done in that facility.”
If all goes according to plan, the mayor said they hope to break ground on the facility at the beginning of next year
