Washington: The White House is working with Russian officials on a new plan aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, according to reports from U.S. media. The proposal is said to be a 28 point roadmap that covers peace efforts, long term security arrangements and the future of relations between the United States, Russia and Ukraine.

People familiar with the discussions say the plan is being shaped through quiet talks between U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian representative Kirill Dmitriev. Early briefings have also been shared with some European governments and advisers to Ukraine’s leadership.

While the details of the plan have not been made public, sources say it includes ideas for a ceasefire, security guarantees for Ukraine and measures to stabilise Europe’s broader security environm
