A new program designed to help divorcees and domestic violence survivors is now available in Mahoning County.
ElevateU 180 was developed through the Mahoning County Domestic Relations Court by Judge Beth Smith.
The program aims to help divorcees and domestic violence survivors move forward by offering accessible education and employment opportunities; it also looks to offer access to basic resources such as food and shelter, helping them to "overcome barriers to moving forward."
Ty Hobard, an employment, education and support advisor, has been designated to lead ElevateU.
"It offers them support, someone who will walk with them through their journey. It provides hope and it provides a future," Hobard said.
ElevateU will also help participants with job-training, resume-writing and more
