WACO, Texas — No. 23 Baylor heads into its second-round NCAA Tournament matchup against Wisconsin riding the momentum of a 3-0 shutout win over Texas State.

The Bears (13-4-4) advanced behind goals from Kai Hayes, Olivia Hess and Hallie Augustyn, and a 10th shutout of the season from goalkeeper Azul Alvarez. Hayes opened the scoring in the 36th minute before Hess and Augustyn added second-half tallies to secure the victory Friday at the Betty Lou Mays Soccer Complex.

Alvarez made three saves in the win, her 13th of the year, entering the postseason with a 0.85 goals-against average.

Baylor now turns its focus to Wisconsin (14-5-2), which rallied to beat Western Michigan in its opening-round match. The second round will be hosted by No. 1 seed Notre Dame, should the Irish defeat UIC and
