COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Collin Klein is coming home.

According to ESPN, the Texas A&M offensive coordinator and 2012 Kansas State quarterback phenom agreed to return to K-State as the program's new head coach, officially announced Thursday night.

Klein, a 2012 Heisman Trophy finalist with the Wildcats and former assistant to the program, received a five-year contract reportedly worth $4.3 million annually. However, Klein is expected to remain with the No. 7 Texas A&M Aggies through the upcoming College Football Playoff.

Klein replaces Chris Klieman, who announced his retirement on Wednesday following seven seasons, including a Big 12 title in 2022.

"We are excited to welcome one of our all-time greats back home to Manhattan," Kansas State athletic director Gene Taylor said in a statem
