FISHERS, Ind. — Some Hamilton Southeastern Schools teachers are planning an informational picket for Wednesday outside the district's central office.

It's part of their push for a better contract, one they say will help them keep up with rising healthcare costs.

The Hamilton Southeastern Education Association is requesting district leaders move $1.6 million from the Rainy Day Fund to the Education Fund to help them do that.

Last Friday, the district said it entered mediation with the HSEA after the two sides failed to reach an agreement.

HSEA president Tyler Zerbe said Wednesday's event is about showing unity.
