Slots created the website in 2000 to connect with other travelers eager to visit several locations, and it turns out she’s not the only one taking such ambitious trips.

Interest in UNESCO travel has been growing, with companies like Road Scholar , Holland America , Viking Cruises , and Windstar Cruises creating itineraries that highlight these locations. “We’ve increased our capacity among these 48 UNESCO programs by 41 percent this year, and we’ll increase capacity by 35 percent in 2026,” says Lizzie Gerecitano, senior public relations specialist
