People who don’t like the smell of burning tobacco accompanying their meals will sometimes be unhappy in Grand Forks restaurants.

In honor of the Great American Smokeout, Herald staffers visited a dozen local restaurants Wednesday to see for themselves how restaurants are handling seating arrangements for smokers and non-smokers, in light of North Dakota’s tougher anti-smoking law. That law went into effect July 1.
