CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Guardians finalized their 40-man roster on Tuesday, adding four prospects and removing one right-hander, who helped them win the AL Central this year, in preparation for the Rule 5 Draft on Dec. 10 at the winter meetings.
Right-hander Austin Peterson and outfielder Kahlil Watson were added to the 40-man roster from Triple-A Columbus.
Infielder Angel Genao and right-hander Yorman Gomez were selected from Double-A Akron.
Right-hander Nic Enright, shutdown near the end of last season because of an injured right elbow, was designated for assignment. Enright went 2-1 with a 2.02 ERA in 27 games for Cleveland. In 31 innings, he struck out 30, walked 12 and saved a game. He had Tommy John surgery on his elbow on Oct. 29.
