HALEIWA (HawaiiNewsNow) - One of the most famous surf towns in the world will soon get the spotlight in a brand-new documentary.

The film, titled ‘Haleiwa Hawaii,’ is set to premiere at The Inertia’s Hometown Hype film series on Thursday, Nov. 20.

The Haleiwa Distilling Company is set to host the highly anticipated event.

Connor Trimble, the film’s director, is a 31-year-old Ohio native and former swimmer at the University of Hawaii.

Trimble said the documentary delves deep into the heart of the iconic surf town, including the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational competition.

“We all know about Pipeline,” said Trimble. “We all know about the Eddie, but do we know about the lifeguards, the lo’i’s up there, the wind sports?”
