Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar revealed that the government is considering a location in South Bengaluru for the city’s second international airport, aimed at improving connectivity and catering to growing air traffic demands.
Since last month, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has been shortlisting sites for Bengaluru’s second airport, with three potential locations under review. However, no final decision has been made so far, according to Deccan Herald.
Earlier in March 2025, the Karnataka government identified three potential sites for the new airport:
Two locations on Kanakapura Road near Kaggalipura and Harohalli in South Bengaluru
One location on Kunigal Road in North Bengaluru
