Motorists on the M6 have been warned to expect significant delays this morning (Wednesday, November 19) due to a multi-vehicle pile-up. National Highways West Midlands broke the news of the smash just before 7am.

Traffic is at a standstill on the northbound section of the motorway between junction 8 for the M5 and junction 9 for Wednesbury.

In an update on X, National Highways reported: "Traffic is being held on the #M6 northbound between J8 (#M5) and J9 (#Wednesbury) due to a collision involving multiple vehicles.
