Met Office weather warnings for snow and ice are covering most of the UK today (Wednesday, November 19).

Although Greater Manchester is covered by an ice warning, which came into effect at midnight on Tuesday and will remain in place until 11am today, the city has for the most part avoided any snow so far.

However, snowfall has seen Woodhead Pass, the A628, closed in both directions from Mottram Moor to the Flouch Roundabout.

The Snake Pass has also seen snowfall overnight but is 'just passable' between the A6013 (Ladybower Reservoir) and Hurst Road (Royal Oak Inn), travel services have said.

Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, the A555 Manchester Airport Relief Road remains shut due to flooding.
