Mumbai recorded a colder-than-usual morning on Wednesday, November 19. It was the coldest November morning in at least 10 years. The Santacruz Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 16.2 degrees Celsius, nearly five notches below the average.
This is the first time since 2014 that such a low minimum temperature has been recorded in November. This shows the severity of the unseasonal cold wave that has hit the city. In comparison, the Colaba Observatory near the coast recorded a temperature of 21.6 degrees Celsius, which highlights the temperature difference between the coastal and interior parts of Mumbai.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), winter has arrived early in Mumbai this November. The minimum temperature in the city has been below 20 degrees Celsiu
