A Class-III tribal girl student died after slipping in the washroom of her school hostel in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

The incident took place at Bhimakand Government Nodal Upper Primary School hostel under Telkoi police limits. The victim, identified as Tejaswini Nayak, daughter of Ganeshwar Nayak from Kuladera village, went to the washroom in the morning. She reportedly slipped, fell, and sustained a severe head injury.

Her family rushed her to Telkoi Hospital in critical condition. Doctors declared her dead soon after admission.

The school administration described the incident as an accident. However, Tejaswini’s parents alleged negligence by hostel authorities. They claimed that poor supervision and a lack of safety measures caused their daughter’s death.
