NEWPORT, Ky. (WXIX) - The Kentucky Department of Education released its 2024-2025 school report card data overnight.

The average kindergarten readiness is the same as it was during the 2022-2023 school year.

Many Northern Kentucky school districts are seeing mild-to-steep declines.

The exceptions are Newport Independent and Southgate Independent schools, which are both up.

ACT scores, however, are also generally trending downward.

This is the third full year of Kentucky’s newer accountability system, which began in 2020.

It measures student performance in six academic areas as well as school quality and preparedness.

Data for the latest one comes from the 2024-2025 school year’s summative assessments in reading and math for grades 3-8, 10, and 11.
