Penn State players — current and former — expressed vehement support for James Franklin in the immediate aftermath of his firing on Oct. 12 .
The former Nittany Lions head coach was in place for nearly 12 years. He was responsible for bringing every member of the coaching staff and roster to Happy Valley.
That chapter is now closed.
But a new one opened Monday.
Franklin agreed to a deal to become the new head coach at Virginia Tech , a move that will have ripple effects on Penn State’s staff, roster and recruiting.
