Gov. Patrick Morrisey and first lady Denise Morrisey invite all West Virginians to submit photos of loved ones who serve or served in the United States military or as first responders. These photographs will be featured on the annual Honor Trees displayed at the State Capitol during the Christmas season.
This annual tradition touches home for the Morriseys. Denise Morrisey's father served in the military along with her brother, who was an F-14 fighter pilot. Patrick Morrisey’s father was a World War II veteran, and his mother was a Veterans Administration nurse.
This year’s Honor Trees will be placed outside the Governor’s Reception Room in the west wing of the West Virginia State Capitol. A third tree, decorated by Gold Star mothers, will also be on display. Gold Star mothers had a chil
