New Delhi: China had initiated a “disinformation” campaign with morphed pictures, among other tactics, against the Rafale aircraft, post-Operation Sindoor, to “hinder” the sales of the French fighter jet, the US Congress was informed Tuesday. It was claimed, as a “fact”, that “only three jets flown by India’s military were reportedly downed and all may not have been Rafales”.

The annual report of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, among other such interesting snippets, also mentioned in a paragraph that “Pakistan’s military success over India in its four-day war showcased Chinese weaponry”. It was not clear what success the report was referring to and whether it meant the use of Chinese missiles to target.
