CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Health scientists are warning of a new strain of influenza, called 'H3N2 Subtype K,' that could lead to a severe flu season in the U.S.

The new mutation began spreading quickly after the flu vaccine for the year was developed, making it easier for people to catch it. Symptoms of this strain are similar to the regular flu, including body aches, fever, sore throat, coughing, and runny nose.
"I mean, I'd be worried. As worried as I am to contract the current flu viruses like in strains out there. But, I mean, I'm not too worried so long as I take the right precautions in order to treat myself. If I do come down with the flu," said John Dion from Connecticut.
