HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Sakiya White and Jakayla Johnson each posted a double-double Tuesday as the University of Southern Mississippi women’s basketball team rolled past Southeastern Louisiana University, 86, 53, at Reed Green Coliseum.
White scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, while Johnson finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Carly Keats led all scorers with 17 points and Melony Thames added 11 for the Lady Eagles (5-0).
The Lady Lions (1-3) got 16 points and six rebounds from Natalie Huff, while Mia Ramos added 10 points off the bench.
USM ran away from a four-point lead after one period to score 24 points in the second quarter and build the bulge to 17 points at halftime.
The Lady Eagles closed the night with a 29-point fourth quarter.
