Milk is rising at a staggering 15 per cent inflation, UK households have been warned. UK inflation dropped to 3.6% in October, easing pressure on households and providing a boost for Rachel Reeves as the Labour Party chancellor prepares for her make-or-break budget next week.
But cleaning equipment has risen four per cent in October, while ice cream is up a staggering 7.6 per cent. Other food items rising sharply include margerine, at eight per cent, whole milk at an eye-watering 15 per cent, and coffee at 14.2 per cent.
Other sharp rises were seen in bread, yoghurt and potatoes, all around two per cent, and mineral water at 5.3 per cent. Items where inflation has eased include gas, electricity, butter, tea, chocolate, soft drinks and ready meals.
