India’s 30-run loss to South Africa in Kolkata has left the country’s cricket fraternity fuming. The Test match ended within three days with India losing by 30 runs. Gautam Gambhir & Co. asked for a turning track at the Eden Gardens, but it bit them back in the fourth innings as the hosts were bowled out for 93. The Indian head coach has been facing criticism after the team’s collapse against the Proteas. However, Gambhir has found strong support from his former teammate Robin Uthappa, who has termed the criticism baseless.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Robin Uthappa dismissed the claims that India’s recent defeat was caused by Gautam Gambhir’s decisions. He stressed that once the match begins, the coach has very little control over what happens on the field.
