While many people across the UK could receive some extra cash over the coming months due to plummeting temperatures, others could miss out despite being eligible. The Cold Weather Payment is a reward provided by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for those claiming certain benefits for every seven consecutive days where temperatures drop to OC or lower.

The scheme, which started on November 1 this year and will last until March 31, 2026, currently provides £25 for each qualifying seven-day period. Many people across the country could have a higher chance of receiving the payment this week as temperatures have been dropping significantly.
