BENGALURU: A gang robbed a whopping amount of over Rs 7 crore from a cash van belonging to CMS Ltd in broad daylight near Jayadev Dairy Circle flyover (near Ashoka Pillar) in Bengaluru on Wednesday afternoon. The cash was being transported to be deposited in ATMs.
The tobbers stopped the cash van in the middle of the road and made off with Rs 7.11 crore that was in the vehicle. Police have visited the spot and are investigating.
The cash van (GJ 01 HT 9173) was on its way to load cash at an ATM near South End Circle. A gang of 6‑7 people came in an Innova, blocked the vehicle at Jayadev Dairy Circle, and claimed to be from the RBI, frightening the crew. They forced the driver and the rest of the occupants, including a gunman, out of the vehicle and took the driver to Dairy Circle.
