Scotland captain Andy Robertson has been warned the "timing" of a move to Celtic is wrong as he faces a crossroads at Liverpool. ‌

The left-back is free to speak to clubs outwith England from January 1 about a pre contract before potentially leaving as a free agent in the summer. ‌

Robertson was subject of serious interest from Atletico Madrid last summer after Liverpool splashed out £40million on Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez. ‌

A move to La Liga failed to get over the line with the 31-year-old opted to stay and battle for a starting spot at Anfield this term.

Arne Slot has given the Scotland hero the nod in recent weeks over Kerkez - but has faced limited minutes and has admitted that talks over a new Liverpool deal have yet to begin.
